April Wines
Domaine Luneau-Papin L d'Or Granite 2022
$39.99
Luneau-Papin is one of the greatest producers in the Muscadet region in the Loire Valley. Proprietors Pierre-Marie Luneau and wife Marie farm biodynamically and the L d'Or is one of their greatest wines coming from a single vineyard that is on a hillside with granite rich soil. The 2022 vintage shows immediate pleasure in its youth but like all great Muscadet has tremendous aging potential. The nose shows aromas of pear and anise and the medium bodied palate shows rich exotic fruit with notes of almond and mineral. This world class wine will be a nice accompaniment to the Apero course.
Giboulot Dessine-moi un Pinot Noir 2024
$31.99
Emmanuel Giboulet is an iconic low intervention producer in Burgundy whose philosophy was perhaps instilled from a father who was pro-organic viticulture in Burgundy in the 1970s when this was not the fashion. He loves purity in his wines, letting them express their terrior. The Dessine-moi un Pinot Noir is purchased fruit from an organic farming friend in the Languedoc in order to offer his style to a broader market. The wine is vinified in Burgundy. All the fruit is destemmed and fermented in stainless steel, allowing the brilliance of the fruit to shine through. The nose shows notes of cherry and the medium bodied palate delivers raspberry fruit with mineral and herbs. This will pair nicely with Beef Bourguignon.
Quinta do Infantado White Port
$22.99
Infantado was among the first in the region to farm organically, starting back in 1990. It is one of the few family-owned and estate bottled ports you can buy in the United States. This is one of their entry level bottlings and it totally shines. The wine has aromas of honey and almond and the medium bodied palate delivers notes of honeyed apricot and almonds with a creamy texture. This will pair well with the Pot de Creme dessert course and will also work with the cheese course, if added.
